A wonderful if not very 'strange' lady, she diffinately would have been convicted as a witch if she had been born earlier...as a young child I remember her family stories which facinated me and how wild birds and animals would find their way to her door to be fed or cared for, so it wasn't unusual to see such things as a tiny fox or badger cub wrapped up in a box next to her fire or her garden full of hares, rabbits, squirrels and birds feeding from her hand...and from a farming family it wasn't the 'sort of thing' they did,but finding information about her is another thing.

She was born and baptised in 1889 Nellie Clements at St Peters and St Pauls Exton Rutland.
In the 1901 census she is living aged 11 years in Besthorpe Nottinghamshire.
She lived at Eagle Hall Lincolnshire ( 1950s-60s) then moved to South Scarle Nottinghamshire in the late 1960s early 1970s before she died there and is buried in South Scarle.
I was always told when I was younger she married an Irishman John Linegar there is a grave stone in South Scarle which says John Patterson died aged 73yrs in 1959 and 'beloved wife' Ellen aged 82yrs in 1972.

I am looking for her marriage if anyone can help or any other information/records to build a better picture of her life

Additional information: It is definately John Patterson and having new information now from the 1911 census John Patterson is living in Northern Ireland (English born) with a NI father and Nellie Clements is in Bulwell Notts in service
