Hello I was wondering If you could help me.

I am currently researching my friends from works family history and I've hit a wall because I think the locations of births that he has provided are wrong.
I currently have the below.

Steven Griffin born 23/9/91 Salford
Father - Simon Paul Griffin 20/7/1968 Salford married to Candy Patricia Griffin

Grand father - Gerarld Patrick Griffin 10/May/1947 - Salford married to Ann Yardley

Great Grandfather - William Griffin 26/Jan/1909, died Jan 1978 Salford married to Mary Elizabeth Kennedy

Great Great Grandfather- Patrick Griffin potentially 1888? Possibly outside of Salford. Potentially married to Susannah Griffin

I was wondering if you could guide me a little bit and confirm if I am on the right lines.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you very much

There is a problem there.

Possibly the wrong birth and wrong marriage.

If Patrick was not born in RD Salford and if 1896 marriage is correct then a birth for Patrick??

Yes. Birth is before the marriage.

If it was correct birth it would either have no mmn or would add 'Occassional copy A' meaning a correction was made eg by adding father's name.
Or birth reg in mother's maiden name with no mmn.

If 1896 marriage is correct we need a birth for a Patrick (perhaps not RD Salford) old enough. 12x born Lancashire.

Do you know if we might be looking for RC events?

England and Wales Census, 1911
FS leaves out all the details for some reason
Household Role *** Age Birthplace
Patrick Griffen Head Male 43 Ireland Kilkem Co, County Kilkenny
Mary Griffen Wife Female 38 Ireland Co Kilkens, County Kilkenny
Sarah Griffen Daughter Female 13 Salfords, Lancashire
Josephine Griffen Daughter Female 11 Salfords, Lancashire
James Griffen Son Male 8 Salfords, Lancashire
Alice Griffen Daughter Female 6 Salfords, Lancashire
Mary Griffen Daughter Female 1 Salford, Lancashire
William Griffen Son Male 2 Salford, Lancashire
Johanna Shirley Boarder Female 69 Ireland Kilke Co, County Kilkenny
William Shirley Boarder Male 32 Liverpool, Lancashire

The sequence both ways from 1909 birth needs checking.
