Hi

I don't know if this is on the board already. But for those of you, like myself, who were under the illusion that the General register office covers all the UK then you would be wrong. Here are the links for the other places. (I'm hoping this site auto links)

Northern Ireland – Tel: (028 ) 90252000 Web: www.groni.gov.uk
Republic of Ireland – Tel: 090 6632900 www.groireland.ie/aboutus.htm
Scotland – Tel: 0131 314 4411 Web: www.gro-scotland.gov.uk
Jersey – Tel: 01534 441335 Web: www.gov.je
Guernsey – Tel: 01481 725277 Web: www.gov.gg
Isle of Man - Tel: 01624 687 039 Web: www.gov.im

I have a direct rellie who wed in Ireland in 1848. Luckily this was a non Catholic wedding and non catholic marriages in Ireland were registered from 1845 onwards.
