Dear Friends,

I would like to know who Hannah Halls parents were, HANNAH HALL was born 1796 at petersfield, Hampshire.

She married George Pink born 1791 at Froxfield, Hampshire

Her First child was George Pink born 1818 at Colemore, (My gg grandfather.

Last Ellen 1839

Hannah Hall (now Pink) died 20th Febuary 1876 at Colemore, Hampshire,

Her Husband died 1882 at Colemore,

Can anyone help me to find out who Hannahs Parents were?

The IGI has a baptism for Hannah Hall 3rd January 1796, Petersfield Hampshire, parents shown as George Hall and Mary Touning.
This is a submitted record so may not be accurate.

The family also shows Sarah Hall bapt. 24th Nov 1793. George Hall bapt 4th Feb 1798, Thomas Hall bapt. 19th Dec 1802 and Ann Hall bapt 9th Aug 1807.

Thank you so much for that. I must be doing something wrong when I try looking on the IGI as I can never find what I am looking for, I am so pleased that there are experts like you and all the others.

How far back does the IGI go as I would like to know George and Marys Date and Place of birth and parentage?

Hi again Gwen, as I mentioned that was a submitted record, not extracted. As we dont know where they were born or their ages it is going to be difficult to find any info on them. I did a search for Mary Touning baptisms and found nothing.

But I found a possible marriage for George and Mary, 16th May 1791, Harting, Sussex which would tie in with the baptism of Sarah in 1793. And a death for Sarah 15th June 1840, Harting, Sussex. That maybe throws the theory out of the window as all the children were baptised in Petersfield

As for how far the records go back, it will depend on the parish and any submitted records.

You will maybe have to check the parish records for another marriage and their baptisms assuming they were from Petersfield. Some are online here there are more possible children (and some births) for George and Mary showing on the transcripts as well.

Thank you for all your help, I had a look at that and found two more possible children John 4 june 1805 and Richard 15 May 1800 but no marriage for George and Mary so they may have been from somewhere else,there do seem to be one or two Halls marriages from Steep maybe they are from there, but I cant seem to find parish records from there, but I will have another try.

Hi Peter

Thankyou for your help. I have now found that Hannah Hall was from Petersfield and her parents were George Hall and Mary Touning, Hannah married George Pink besides Ellen Pink born 1839 in Hampshire she had a son William b abt 1823. Ellen married my g grandfather John Neale in 1864 at Cumnor.

I have only just had the parish records for Cumnor so am still looking for dates for the BMDs on that part of my tree.
