I can't see a baptism record for any child to either couple before 1872.

Hello Barbara,

Thank you very much.

I will now look for a death for Hellen 1861-1871.

In 1861 and 1871 the family was living at 8 Maclean's Close, Inverness, Inverness so this one is too far away but the only one I've found so far. No Hellen or Ellen deaths 1861-1871 in all of Inverness. I also checked using M'D and M D and MacD.

Death 1871 Helen McDONALD Kiltarlity, Inverness Age 22

So a mystery at the moment. Age 9 with family in 1861 as Hellen. Not with family in 1871.
