Hello and searching

Hi Im a newbie to this site and am looking for guidance on tracing my ggg grandfather James Bannister. I have him in all census from 1841 and his marriage to Lydia Leech in 1823 in Tipton, but I cannot track down his birth. All census records show him as being born c1807 and coming from Dudley. I would dearly love to trace my roots back further but have come to a full stop here.

Hi Karen. these Bannister's are a mystery, Is James related to Jane Bannister. Her parents are Joseph Bannister, and Isabella Stow{nee Bolton} from Lancashire England.I have seen Bannister's on the free Ancestry site, but not the one's I'm looking for, maybe you might find James..Good Luck, Christine.

Have you tried the IGI seeing that James was born pre 1837. See link below
