Hello Everyone,
My name is Mardi and I live in Sydney Australia, born here of British parents.
I have been addicted to family research for many years now and it all started not long after both my parents had past away and I had my first trip to the Uk, which was spent tramping cemeteries, Somerset House, Kew etc.
I completely fell in love with England and was lucky enough to be able to work there for ten years (I've been back home 4 years) and I managed to trace and meet some of my Coventry relatives and find many of the old familiy homes (those that weren't Blitzed) and locate graves etc.
My father's family all came from Coventry, but my mother's family were from all over the place due to her coming from many generations of Royal Artillery, but finally I 'nailed' them, prior to 1835 to many generations of farmers in the Cannock area of Staffordshire.
I have a few early ancestors that are a problem to research, not to mention the many that were from Ireland and even though I know where they were born it doesn't seem to help..an Irish holiday perhaps would do the trick !
Have a very Happy Christmas everyone.
