Hi my name is Dee and i live in North Lincolnshire, UK. I am trying to trace my Mums Dad's side of the family and they are proving to be a hard lot to find!! They are the Jacobs family from the Wiltshire area mainly Wilton. I have hit every brick wall going i think and have also been told that we have Jewish connections, but like most people with the surname Jacobs i think this could just be a myth as up to now have found no proof of this and hope to one day either find the link or rule it out. I have been very lucky on my Dads side of the family and have his family history going back to 125AD, being very lucky to have had all this information passed down to me which has taken a member of the family many many years to put together so to them i am very gratefull, i just need help with the Jacobs as most of you know there are millions of them. So if anyone can give me any help or advice i would really appreciate it and i look forward to taking part in the forums.
Dee

Hi Dee,
welcome to the FHUK Forums, you will find the members friendly and helpful and willing to help you with your research on the Jacob's side of your family. I agree there are a lot of them out there. To help us to help you, post your question's with as much information that you do have on the appropriate forums, and we will see if we can help you find some of those answers.
Welcome once again, and we hope you enjoy the FHUK forums. Best regards StericoO0

Welcome to the site.

If we put all our 'brickwalls' together we could probably encircle the British Isles, unfortunately we all hit them. This is all part of the fun,or so we are told.

Back to 125AD - wow! that must have taken some researching (where did that branch of the family originate?)

Can any members of of the Forum beat 125AD,it would be interesting to know.

Happy hunting,keep climbing those walls.

Thank you for the welcome and i have already had some great help here and have already started to make a break through with my brick wall!! and yes i agree if we didnt have brick walls it would take the fun out of this well apart from the headaches you get from banging your head on that brickwall.
125AD is a great achievement one i can not say i am responsible for, as i said it has been passed down to me and is the result of over 30 years research by a member of our family who originates from Scotland. There are still a lot of gaps to fill in which i hope i will be able to start to do once i have gained some more experience as i cant even find ancestors pre 1837 on my own so dont have a clue where to start for ones going way back. The tree contains all the male members of the family and as there are no records that can be found of the women or have not been found i think this is going to be one heck of a job to do but something that i will either find interesting or will just give up!! But I am thankfull to this member of the family and i have never met him and would love to meet him one day, but as he does not live here in England i very much doubt it, but then again what is it they say never say never lol.
