Hi I'm a newbie and just want to introduce myself to you all. I live in Victoria Australia now, but I was born in Yorkshire, in the Bradford Infirmary. I moved to Baroldswick when I was 12 and attended Skipton Girls High School and emigrated to Australia at 16.

I am researching the names Holdsworth (my maiden name) and Gaunt, Craven, Hardisty, Wedgeworth, Coultas and Wells. I've been lucky to find 3rd cousins from all over the world whilst researchng my family history and we have swapped some great information and lovely photos, but those brick walls are just sooooo frustrating!!

I'm looking forward to seeing what this site is all about and to hear about others' experience with their family history research.

Kind regards,
JMR

Hello JMR!

You'll certainly be happy that you joined FHUK, so many folk ready to help, so post those brickwalls up and you will surely experience that help!

Be warned though, this is a very addictive site! Hurrah!

Wishing you a very Happy New Year,

Gemmas' Pal :)

Thanks for your offer Pat. I still love Barnoldswick and I visit there when I can. You've probably passed by my old house in Skipton Road on your travels. It was called The Limes and is opposite the Coates Estate.

Cheers,
Jill

Ben - thanks for your welcome too! I'm not sure where to start posting on the forum. My family all lived and died (the vast majority) in or around Bradford!
