I was born outside of Liverpool at Burtonwood AFB back in the 50's. My mother was a UK citizen and we moved to the states shortly after I was born. I have never met any of my mothers relatives (she passed in 2006) and I really want to learn about her side of the family. All I know is her grandmother was from County Cork and her name of Margaret O'Leary. I have no idea how to even begin to search.

I think your first step is purchase your mothers marriage cert. And find out who her fathers name is, and occupation. You know her date of birth, which should eventually lead to her G/Mothers birth cert in County Cork.
