I have enjoyed the hobby of family history since about 1983 when I first contacted my father's eldest brother to ask him about his grandparents. His response "oh, no, we have only just lived it down!" couldn't have been a more tempting introduction to my family history and I have been thoroughly hooked eversince.
Having completed eight lines of research I am now struggling with the two or three 'brick walls' that everyone reaches at some point. To vary my hobby I decided to write a history of my life so far, including photographs and anything I thought relevant. This I have dedicated to my Grandson Matthew in the hope that when he is himself a grandfather he can show his grandchildren how I lived my life mainly in the twentieth century.
