Came across this site by accident but it looks a very good one and helpful too.
I am just starting to pick up my research after a longish layoff - too many other things to do.
I have tended to use genesreunited for the last few years and have found that pretty useful with some good people on there.
My particular sticking point is trying to find my g grandfather, William Sands b 1859, Openshaw, Manchester and last heard of 1901 census Middlesbrough, N Yorks but after a few years of trying, I have never been able to locate his death.
I am sure I will get a few pointers from the forum.
I am living on the Isle of Wight so if I can help anyone with local research I will do my best
Regards
John
