Hello, first post so be gentle. I am looking for Swinhoes, living in Sunderland. Richard Thompson Swinhoe (1877) married Mary Jane Marshall (1880) in 1899 and I have managed to trace his parents but not Marys. Any help would be appreciated. Regards, Applepie

Hello Applepie and welcome What a yummy name.

I'm going to try to help.
There are 4 Mary Jane Marshall's born in Durham in 1880. Only 1 born in Sunderland in JAS 1880 vol 10a page 599. If you think this could be the right one you could apply for her birth cert and that would give you her parents details.

In 1881 census there are 2 Mary J Marshall's living with their parents. Both born Durham. One in Crook, the other in Stockton.

If you need more info on these just post your request and we'll see what we can do. Hope this helps.

Enjoy the sight. It's great fun.
