Hi all, Am trying to find the siblings of Samuel Lamb. Although he was known as Sam he was born Frederick, Arthur Lamb in 1896 in Hackney and married my Gt Aunt Elizabeth, Sophia Holding in 1917, Lambeth. The marriage record on Ancestry has him as Samuel, Frederick, Arthur George Lamb. His father was Frederick, George Lamb deceased who was a labourer by trade.
1901 census has Frederick (known as Sam) with parents Frederick & Ellen in Hackney with siblings; Winifred, Jonathan, William, Charles, Margaret, Florence, Rebecca and Susan.
By 1911 Ellen now widowed and at 8 Alaska Street in Lambeth with; children William, L Charles R and Florence L (all with surname of NOAKES) as well as Frederick, Samuel, Rebecca, Elsie Rees (both named lamb) and Susan, Emma Wilkins (adopted child) as well as Grandchildren Winnie, Ellen, Sydney George and Florence, Marie Withers.
The 1911 Census records states that Ellen had 6 children in total and that all 6 were alive at this time however, when I checked the 1891 Census I find Frederick & Ellen with 3 other children; Robert, Rowland and Amelia!! So am now totally confused!!
Can anyone help me sort out the mystery of Samuel's siblings?
Any ideas would be very much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
confused Christine!
