Help - John William Thomas

Hi
I could do with some really big help please??

I have moved on to my husbands side of the family in particular his mothers side. I am strugging with her maternal grandparent.

So far the only information I have is as follows:
John William Thomas - no date of birth
married Elizabeth Knot her date of birth is 1885 and she was born in Lye Worcestershire
I have no date of marriage so can't even trace the Wedding Certificate.

I know from the 1911 census they were married but Elizabeth was living elsewhere.
I have obtained one of the daughters birth certificates - Gladys Maud Thomas born in 1919 and her father is shown as John William Thomas and he is described as a labourer previously in the army. I assume this is from WW1.

They have ended up in Coventry but don't know if thats where he is from or not.

I have managed to get right through Elizabeth Knots family but nothing on his.
Any assistance anyone could give me would be hugely appreciated.

In 1911 census. There appears to be Elizabeth Thomas, with 2 children, and there as a visitor.

William Benjamin Thomas c.1909. Birmingham.
Lilian Elsie May Thomas c1911. Birmingham. (6 months old).

Living with Frank & Annie Kezia Lees. of Lye, Worcestershire.

And living at 11 Grove Road, Stockingford, Nuneaton.

Elizabeth Thomas 1885. Lye, Worcs. (Married 3 years).

It would also appear that Annie Kezia Lees is her sister.

Annie K. Knot b.1882. Lye, Worcester.

Parents are Benjamin & Kezia Knott.

As in 1891 census.

Twofer in 1911. I think.

Many thanks for this the Wedding Certificate is great news. As I say I have managed to get through on Elizabeths family all the way back but I can't go any further back on his side - only as far as him. Can't work out where he was born or his parents or anything. It is quite a common name!!

So thanks again hopefully the Wedding Certificate will shed some light!
