I will try & make this as simple as possible, but my head is going round in circles.

In 1902 a William Charles Grant born Worth Matravers Dorset marries a Edith Mary Damer. NOTE the name Damer as it helps that this name appears in this family, earlier
My real question is this.
In 1861 I have a William Grant father of the above living in Worth.
As shown
Mary Corben widow Born 1790 Stone masons wife.
John Damer Lodger single Born 1794. So Damers are with the family then.
Elizabeth Grant DAUGHTER(so I assume her maiden name is Corben) born 1826 widow.
William Grant born 1845 Grandson Ag Lab.
John Grant born 1847 Grandson Ag Lab
George Grant born 1856 Grandson.

So then I look at the 1851 census, to try & find who Elizabeths husband was.
I found
living in Liverpool

Henry Grant born 1824 Dock Labourer born Kingston
Elizabeth born 1827 born Worth
William born 1845
John Vinson Grant (I think should read Vincent) born 1847

The dates all tie in more or less

This is where it now becomes confusing.
I cannot find a marriage of a Henry Grant to an Elizabeth Corben, but I can find an Elizabeth Corben marrying a John Bower.
So my confusion is who is Elizabeth & why is her mother's surname Corben.

HELP.
Maybe fresh eyes may look at it differently.

Possible marriage for Henry Grant in 2nd q 1844 in Wareham
to a possible Elizabeth Snellon Bower or and Elizabeth Damen.

To be sure you would need the certificate but you mention both names.

there is a record in the Dorset parish registers for a marriage between Henry Grant and Elizabeth Snellon Bower. May 27th 1844 in the Parish of Corfe Castle, Kingston. Henry of full age, bachelor, father George, Elizabeth 18 spinster, father Charles. Witnesses John and Hannah Bower

1851 census Henry is from Kingston....Bingo but how does Elizabeth Bower become Corben

Thank you all, once again you have been a help.
Yes a birth certificate of a child I think will confirm who Elizabeth is,
She got married again I notice to a Bower, how confusing.
