Hi I am a newbie, I am using Ancestry.com, have got stuck and they are not answering my requests for help. Can anyone here help me please?

I would like to ask how do I find out an exact date of birth when they only show the quater and year in the England and Wales Birth Index 1837 - 1983. They show a volume and page number so how can I research further from this info or is further info even available right now? Its all a bit Greek to me and any advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

post the name and any details you have eg, name, place of birth, year of birth etc in the census requests forum and we will see what we can do for you. Again welcome and we hope you enjoy your time here on FHUK.

Hi and welcome to the site. Good luck with all your searches. You may have to apply for the certificate in question, which will give the exact date of birth, address where birth took place & parents names However someone may have the info so it is always worth asking. :)

Hi there mrssmith,

Welcome to FHUK. Good luck with your research! Posting on the relevant board is the best way to get the help you need. Some times you need someone more precise local knowledge to give you the tricks and tips of finding the information you require in your search area.

Cheers,
Jill

welcome,

writer ro is correct what you see is just a reference so you can order the certificates and of course you have to pay for them, but I have purchased some and I feel they are worth it, also since you are a member of ancestry check the family trees sometimes someone else has already collected the information that you are looking for.
