Hi all
I hope someone can help me with this problem.
I have found the marriage of Mark Grice in the FreeBMD but there are 2 females who have the same index number i.e. the marriage is for Dec 1903 and there are both Elizabeth Emily BULL and Eleanor Maud RHODES with the index W. Ham 4a 66.Is there a way of knowing which one is correct without having to purchase a marriage certificate

Thankyou
Brian

The index only shows the page in the register that the marriage is recorded on not the actual entry there appear to be normaly two marrages per page but I have come across pages with more.

The entry for that marriage is below.

Surname First name(s) District Vol Page
Marriages Dec 1903 (>99%)
BULL Elizabeth Emily W. Ham 4a 66
GRICE Mark W. Ham 4a 66
Pridmore Samuel William W. Ham 4a 66
RHODES Eleanor Maud W. Ham 4a 66

So I don't think you have any way of knowing who married who from the BMD Index.:(

Thanks for that Edward.
In the past ,if a marriage was before 1901 and there was more than one name per page I have used the censuses to try to discover which one is the correct one.I just wondered if there was an easier way of telling
