I have various information on my grandmother but i would like to know alot more here are some of the facts i know.
She was born on July 17th 1914 in chapel of Ease Newport Gwent,She was the youngest of 7 children born to William and Harriet.And the last of them to survive.
She Got married to Evan John Francis on December 7th 1940.
They only had 1 child Marion Elizabeth francis (My Mum).
Grandad (Evan) died at the age of 42 but i have no record of when he was born and the date that he died.
Grandmother Went into service at Epsom and after grandads (evan) death she went to work at Glaxo Manufacturing Ostermilk baby food.
She left there and worked as a cleaner for a couple that owned a pub in Greenford,Middlesex.
That is Some of the Information i have on my Grandmother but i would love to know more if you can help i would appreciate it very much as i have been trying to trace my family for years.

Found this marriage year 1896 dist Newport M June 1/4 Harriett Rebeker Lavender also listed is a William Prosser Powell.

birth for a William Prosser Powell year of registration 1870 Mar 1/4 dist Newport M vol 11a page 211

Evan John Powell married Dec 1/4 dist Brentford vol 3a page 683 spouse Francis. What
age was he when he married? work back from there and it will give you roughly the year he was born.

Looked them up on Ancestry see link below (the parital bmd is free to view and the 1881 census but the complete bmd and other resources are pay per view) I have a membership with Ancestry so if you would like look ups post a message.

ive managed to get my grt grt grandfathers birth cert his father was thomas powell and his mother was mary powell nee prosser and ive come to a stand still again my grt grt grandfather was william prosser powell born feb 6 1870,so now im trying to trace his parents as it does not give dates or anything else please can someone help ive come to a standstill thankyou

Have you used the census to trace the parents?

Hi Julie,

Have you your grandads marriage cert? which should give you his age and his fathers name and occupation. Here are the details if you havnt. Marriage Evan J Francis Dec 1/4 dist Brentford spouse Powell vol 3a p683. Found this birth entry year 1912 Evan J Francis dist Newport M vol 11a page 574?. If you havnt his marriage cert suggest you purchase it and also the birth cert which will give you parents name and fathers occ plus family address the names of the witness's can also be of help as they may turn out to be relatives and also fathers name on marr cert should match the one on the birth cert.
