Hi all.

Henry John Turner married Elizabeth Sophia Green in 1905, and two children in the 1911 census. Henry(1907 ) & Leonard(1909 ).

Can any census records be found from 1901 backwards for Henry John Turner.

No certs purchased, no birth reg found, except a possible for a John Henry Turner in 1882 in Stow, Suffolk.
Date of birth is from the 1939 register, and 1911 census.

Age is 3 years out but best I can find. Probably not your man but nothing for a Henry John.

I think I may have found him under Harry Turner c1883. Stowmarket.

1901 has him as worker in a factory.
1911. Fitter labourer, Engineering, in Gainsborough, Lincs
1939. Gainsborough, Fitter engineering, cars and transport, @ J.C. Engineering.

Working back to 1881, his father may have been Isaac Turner c1852. Stowmarket.

I checked his sister Mabel in an earlier census that's how I found him, Isaac was still alive at the time.

Yes, I did track back to 1881 census.

Mabel was quite handy, wasn't she.:biggrin:

Marriage is not at the top of my list, but at least Isaac seems viable.
