Hello Dave ! Hope this finds you well on Easter Sunday as my husband and I have some down time with no visitors !! I have had a bit more of a look into Henry Fitzpatrick. In fact I am going to devote myself solely to his case over the next week at least. I will pass on any info to you via this site. I am related via his son Richard Joseph Fitzpatrick who was born in the Molonglo River area near Queenbeyan. in 1846. I was pleased to see your post about his sister ( your ancestor who married a Collins ) Maria Agnes born 1853. Today I also found another child named Carolina with father Henery and Mother Mary ( v1855201572) on ancestry so presuming from the serial number that she was born in 1855. I also found the death of Henrys wife on Find a grave- Mary Anne Fitzpatrick b 1824 died 12/2/1873 spouse Henry , child Richard Joseph( which is correct), buried at Rookwood ( no numbers given). I missed this one so I don't have an image of the record. If there is no error (and there are lots of errors in the index) then although that is an RC baptism record the way it is recorded means that the year of birth is 1855 - the year of baptism could be 1855 or any year after that.

Here is some research I have been doing for Richard Fitzpatrick, my Great Grandfather. I am writing the definitive Fitzpatrick ( and associated lines) once and for all this winter. There is a Brick wall on Henry with the reference to Oxford. But anyway here is my format :

Thanks for that info Dave. Yesterday I even researched the priest from the name you provided. R. Walsh. His name was Richard Walsh, a keen Catholic priest who travelled all over the Monaro area establishing Churches and Catholic schools. Some of the legendary Catholic figures also down there , Bishop Polding and Mary Mc Killop. So the name Richard reflected Henrys dad as well as their local priest. I don't like going off on tangents but this one got my interest.PLUS I have Walsh names in my DNA list.

It would seem that in 1846 the family was not in Queanbeyan but in an unparished area somewhere in the County of Murray.
