??
CORBETT MARY A 4373/1896 PATRICK JULIA - WAGGA WAGGA

No remarriage that fits that death.

Lots of possible remarriages for Mary if Henry died about 1853.

Thanks Geoff.

Don't know about the middle names but Patrick and Julia and the deaths fit.

Time to check Trove again. Nothing found for Mary.

Can't find Henry on Assisted list or earlier Bounty list.

Several very different trees.

One has Mary's death as 1882.

Henry's birth 1818 in Oxford.

Here is a summary of Henrys life :

Henry Joseph Gregory Fitzpatrick
B 1818 ( from the DC aged 68 in 1886)
M 1842 ( from the DC aged 24 when married)
D 29/11/1886 (DC 2825/1886)

Life story
  • Henry was born in Oxford, England ( From the DC) in 1818
  • 1846 Henry was in the County Murray ( near Queenbeyan)- from baptism of Richard in 1846 at the Molongolo River Queanbeyan where there were farms along the river inhabited by Irish.
  • Henry had other children: Maria Agnes b 1853, Carolina b 1855( v1855201572), Michael b. 21/5/1848, Julia 8/4/1851. Most of the baptismal certificates give Henry’s occupation as a Shoe Maker ( Source UK Family History Forum)
  • Richards MC describes him as a bootmaker, a trade that was carried down to his son.
  • Richards DC describes him as a Mail Contractor.
  • HIs wife was Mary Ann Connelly ( born 1818 Tuam Ireland) died in 12/2/1873 so he was a widow for 13 years.

Henrys Death
  • Carey St Leichhardt at his son in laws home ( see funeral notice) ( 30/11/1886)
  • On Henrys DC- parents are Richard ( farmer) and Caroline
  • Henry died of Brights Disease which is a kidney disease ( not inherited)
  • Find a Grave- details give his age as 69-70 , so born in 1816 roughly matches DC
  • Henry is buried with his wife , Mary Anne Fitzpatrick ( nee Connelly/Connelley)In section M1, Row 5,Plot 51 ( memorial 150888146)

Thanks Viv.

May be able now to find something in England.

32 years in NSW does not help with arrival. Marriage would be about 1842 - that depends on accuracy of age at death.

RC Church Queanbeyan - don't know if that register has been filmed and if so is it in the Mitchell Library in Sydney - currently closed.

LW= Roman Catholic Cooma; Monara; Queanbeyan; Towfold Bay

Searching NSW index for marriages 1838 - 1855 for and Henry with district code = LW returns zero hits

I can't see a Richard or Henry or Caroline in 1841 census in England who would fit.

How much did the informant get right?
