can anyone please help me find a date for the death of a Henry Morton? I know very little other than he was born abt 1840 in Hetton le Hole Durham. He was living at Tudhoe Durham in the 1871 census. His father was John and his mother Elizabeth. I don't know whether he ever married but I do know that he was in the US in the 1880 census living with his brother James. After this he seems to have disappeared. I have not been able to find any record of him after 1880 but believe that he may have returned to England. I would be so grateful if anyone could 'find him'.I have come to a brick wall 10 feet deep on this one.

Hi RSJ,

I havnt been able to trace Henry either. As most of the US 1890 census didnt survive its quite a gap between 1880-1900. So he could be anywhere.

Have you tried Genesreunited. There are a couple of people with James Morton born 1832 and Henry Morton born 1840 Durham.
