Henry Norbrook

#21
Wanting to find out if Henry Norbrook and wife had any other children baptised, birth etc besides Hannah that was mentioned in one of of our earlier checks for Daughter Hannah's baptism and caused an uproar because the word n***o was used in an old document [250 years ago] and quoted from.

I am trying to find out for someone else to see if their Norbrook family links up with mine.

Norbrook is a made up surname and very unusual, Norbrook was the name of the plantation in Jamaica that Henry was born at.

Parents.
Henry Norbrook Born a slave, Jamaica of African parents, died Tunstall, Suffolk, England.
wife Hannah Cooper1732-1817 died Tunstall England.

In particular the person I'm looking for is a William Norbrook Born 1777 ?

Hi oz,
I've been looking and cant find anything yet, i would assume there may have been other kids but i just cant find them. Im still looking tho:biggrin:
Thanks Gibbo, I really believe that both Norbrook family's are related as Nor brook is a made up surname by a slave and can't be common.

Found this on family search probably Williams granddaughter.
Sarah Anne Norbrook christened 3/8/1853 father William mother Mary Anne
Ind no co3145-5 system origin England -odm, sorce file no 1278932.

Whatever all that means.

Oz

Thats all I can find at the moment.

Steve have you tried the records office for Norfolk or Suffolk regarding Henry Norbrook. To me it looks like if he was a slave he was released from this and maybe there may be a ticket/certificate of freedom or what ever its called.
