Hi

I'm wondering if you could help me with tracing one of my partner's ancestors. Henry William Carpenter born 1870 Streatham Surrey.

He appears on the 1871 census as Henry William Carpenter (his birth index names him Henry William) without an age living with his father Henry James Carpenter, mother Mahala Carpenter and grandfather John Carpenter.

Later he appears on the 1881 census as Henry A Carpenter living at 44 Williow Walk Sydenham, Kent with his father, mother and brothers Alfred Maunder Carpenter and Frank E Carpenter.

Later on the 1891 census Henry's family is listed as living at The Boathouse, Maidenhead Court Cookham Berkshire but Henry William is missing. Also I am unable to locate him on the 1901 census. I have checked the death indexes for Henry William from 1881 right through until 1902 but can find no Henry of the right age or place.

Am I going mad? Thanks in andvance for any help!
