Herberts in Hampshire

Greetings,
Browsing to keep out of the rain I thought I may strike lucky and get through my 'Brickwall' with any available help.
My HERBERT ancestry takes me back 5 generations to WILLIAM,(b.abt 1770, d. 1831, Millbrook, Southampton) a Stonemason and widower when marrying MARY PRINCE, (b. 1769, Nursling, Southampton) m. 1797, Nursling.
Their family was ELIZABETH (1799 - ?)) EDWARD (1801 - 1880) GEORGE (1802 - ?) HENRY ( 1803 - 1851)
I have been unable to find the birthplace and parents of WILLIAM or details of his previous marriage in Hampshire or adjoining counties. When his first wife died did he pick up his Hammer and Chisel and move on to find work in Southampton ?
Other Ancestry sites have little regarding Hampshire, will I fair better here?
