Hi all, my name is Ted from Shepparton in Australia. Have been to the UK on 6 occassion's for the first 4 to gather info on my past family who came from Lincolnshire. I Have been doing family research for over 15 years and have successfully published back in 2008. I am seeking a little bit of info in regard to a book call "The Somerset Years", the story of Migrants from Sumerset to Australia. I cannot get hold of this book unless I travel to Melbourne some 200 KM away. I am looking for some info on my 3 times Grandparents David & Lavina Adams. They were married at Temple Church Bristol on the 15 June 1852 and shortly after migrated to Geelong/Melbourne. If anyone has this book, could you advise if their was any reference to these people? Lavina maiden name "Shepstone" from a villiage called Rowberrow. Would be happy to hear from anyone, I am interested in the ship's name they came over on and an approx date?:biggrin:

It should be possible to get the date of arrival and name of the vessel without reference to that book.

The first birth in the Vic. index was registered in 1860. No reg in the NSW index.

HI, To all you that replied to my Query. Thanks for the info, I believe that the ship mentioned is the correct one, there were so many Adams coming over at this stage (Gold Rush) But now I was able to come up with a death date for both my 3 x Grandparents. Thanks for all your haelp:biggrin::biggrin:
