My Crooks line is from Nottinghamshire. ENGLAND, mostly around Mansfield Woodhouse. I'm interested in locating any photos of Harold Crooks (died 1975) or his family. My uncle Frank was killed in ww1. For me this seems incredible as on my mums side, the aunts and uncles weren't born until at least the 1940's.
I started this journey 2 years ago and had information and brick walls with who i thought was my grandad (he'll always remain that) and then had to delete that line and start over again. Families and their skeletons eh? Naughty granny i say ha ha 😂

Hi, yes and Barbara was very helpful. Found out 3 of the Crooks brothers, went to war but only 2 came back and 1 had been a German pow from her. I would like to connect with any unknown cousins who may be able to help me more about my grandad, Harry.

Have you tried the phone book? There are several Crook families still in Nottinghamshire.
