Hi

Could some one please do any look ups from 1841 through to 1871 for a Thomas Higham. He was born abt 1840 possibly in Surrey

Thomas was married to a Lousia E (26yrs) in the early 1860's and by 1873 had three sons Thomas 6yrs, Robert 4yrs and John 1yr. Thomas and Lousia E emmigrated to New Zealand aboard the Helen Denny in 1874. Thomas Higham was a carpenter. Last address was shown as Surrey

Sorry about the lack of details, hoping someone can help.

Couldnt find a Thomas Higham born Surrey, but found the following:-

marriage 1863 Thomas Higham dec 1/4 dist North Aylesford, Kent vol 2a page 539 also listed is a Louisa Emma Morris.

1871 census

9, Portland Row-Civil parish Halling (probaly should be Malling), reg dist North Aylesford, sub reg dist Strood, county Kent.

Household members:-

Thomas Higham a 31 born Lewes, Sussex occ shipwright
Louisa Higham age 23 bor Gourdhurst Kent
Thomas A Higham age 3 born Halling
Robert Higham age 1 born Halling
Alfred Foreman age 45 lodger

1861 census:-

Thomas Higham age 22 born Lewes Sussex, seaman
civil parish vessels, town Sunderland, county Durham.

1851 census:-

Civil parish Strood, county Kent, reg dist North Aylesford, sub reg dist Northfleet

John Higham a 31 born Lewes
John Higham age 9 born Lewes
Samuel Higham age 2 born Strood
Sarah Higham age 36 born Lewes
Thomas Higham age 11 born Lewes
William Higham age 13 born Lewes
Robert Higham age 4 born Strood

1841 census

civil parish South Malling county Sussex

Lanzia Higham born abt 1836 out of county
Sarah Higham born about 1816 in county
Thomas Higham born about 1840 in county

Wow.....and double Wow

What you have found confirms a few things that i hunted down at the local library today, in fact you found heaps more, you gave me Thomas Highams paretns and siblings as well as a surname for his wife as well as a date fror the marraige.....All of which i didn't have. If you could just see my smile now :D:D:D It seems that the flood gates have finally opened.

This have been really wonderful, i have got so much to work with now. All i need to do is find out what happened to everyone else in the UK and here in New Zealand.

Many many thanks for your help. My father in law is going to be one very happy man when he gets all this information.
