I was brought up in Scotland so find English geography confusing even though my family is English. I have found that GENUKI is useful for finding out about the area and clearing up why someone should have two birthplaces ie one is birthplace the other is Parish name.

Google mapping in England has become inaccurate in Yorkshire especially. Whole areas of Sheffield are now listed as Norton and Tickhill is listed as Rotherham when in fact it is Doncaster. Leeds has doubled in area according to google too. Every time I try googling places I find more mistakes so I would not rely on their maps.
