History House - Essex

I found a website on my 'travels' thru www........for anyone tracing family in Essex..........not sure if im allowed to post website addy's here.....but the name of the site is History House and it gives loads of info on Essex including a very long list of the towns and villages in the county.......thought it would be useful for anyone starting out on their gen research.

Hi Athena

I have many Essex ancestors. Out of my 8 great grandparents, 4 of them were born in Essex as were most of their ancestors. At the moment the IGI coverage for Essex is pretty patchy and it can be hard tracing BMDs of Essex ancestors at this moment in time.

I just tried the link but got a Page Load Error message.

all my mums family came from brightlingsea, st osyth and west ham, and other various places in essex and margate, Kent......i'll post the link here for the History House........dont like doing it coz not sure if im s'posed to do that here......anyway ....if the link doesn't work then type History house into ur web browser.....it should give u a list of matching items......other than that......if u need any help give me a shout i'll c wot i can find for u
