Home guard records

Can anyone help? I know that regular military records can be obtained but can one also get service records for anyone who served in the Home Guard during the second world war? If so, how?

The Ministry of Defence hold records for the Home Guards. Used this link as I am having trouble with Acrobat reader.

Thanks very much. Do you, or anyone else, have any idea what sort of information etc I can expect in reply from MOD.? I understand that there is a charge.
