Hello,

John HOUSTON married Jane BLACKLEY in 1863.

Children born in Lanark:

Henry b. 1864
John b. 1866
James b. 1869
Sarah b. 1871
Charles b. 1874

I'd like a look up for the family in 1871 please.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Thank you very much. I didn't have a Jane that fitted anyway.

Well, that rules out my last hope. Unless you can find them. :D

In 1871, the occupants of 57 Broomlands Street, Paisley are

Francelia B?? 57, born Ireland (Could this be Isabella?) <--- Yes
Mary G 34, Mill Weaver born Paisley <--- yes unmarried daughter
-- missing one is probably daughter Isabella
Ann Bechett 24 daughter, born Paisley
Bechett 11, granddaughter born England <---- Isabella - father = Thomas
Farrie Bechett 8 granddaughter born England <---- Jessie - father = Thomas
James Bechett 3 grandson born Glasgow
Sarah Bechett 1 granddaughter born Glasgow

Original damaged so family should be Blackley but the family name of the grandchildren may or may not be. But I can't find birth records as Blackley, Jack, McNaughton. My last hope was Houston.

No sign of either in 1881. No sign of them being children of the only known son Thomas. I could be missing a brother and if I am he'd be John for sure after his father. Mary didn't marry. Isabella may have married but can't find her or a marriage after 1871. Ann may have married but can't find her or a marriage after 1871.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Thomas with his three sons. Daughters Isabella and Jessie are with their grandmother Isabella in Scotland in 1871.

1871
RG10 Piece: 3826 Folio: 5 Page: 4
Civil parish: Kirkdale
RD: West Derby
Sub-RD: Toxteth Park
67 Westminster Road
Thomas Blackley lodger wid age 38 occ Iron moulder born Scotland ? [Ireland]
Thomas Blackley lodger age 16 occ railway clerk born Liverpool
William Blackley age 15 occ shop errand boy born Liverpool
Archibald Blackley age 12 born Liverpool
Spouse Janet died in 1863 in Liverpool. If James and Sarah are his children then if Glasgow is correct it's hard to believe with him as transcribed in 1871. I can't see W Derby or Liverpool or England transcribed as Glasgow.

Regards,

Dave

Hello cp,

Even if James and Sarah remain a mystery there is still Isabella b. abt 1835 Ireland and Ann b. abt 1846 Paisley to find married or unmarried after 1871. We have drawn a blank in Scotland and Lancashire so far.

Regards,

Dave

Death 1872 Ann BROGAN (MS BLACKLEY) Lanark b. 1846 +/- 1

Death 1872 Ann BROGAN (MS BLACKLEY) Glasgow City b. 1846 +/- 1

Death 1929 Ann MANSE (MS BLACKLEY) Lanark b. 1846 +/- 1

I got 60 credits last week and I used the last 6 today for the HOUSTON - BLACKLEY marriage so I'm searching on SP with zero. :D A little bit slower.

Death 1909 Isabella WILSON (MS BLACKLEY) Kirkcudbright b. 1835 +/- 1

That's it with MS = BLACKLEY so not including variations.

Well, I can find no BROGAN or MANSE marriage to Ann. And this rules out it being my Isabella:

groom's name: Robert Wilson
groom's birth date:
groom's birthplace:
groom's age:
bride's name: Isabella Blackley
