Mrs.C.W. Wildermuth, an old resident of the Nundah district, passed away on Saturday last. Think im getting myself all confused now

Thought if i could find the death index for the below it would give names of the parents, hence Hugh's parents as well. I cant find the death index:confused:

The Brisbane Courier (Qld. : 1864 - 1933) (about)
Tuesday 2 August 1881
Funeral Notices.

THE Friends of HUGH RUHLE aro respectfully invited to attend the Funeral of his lato Sister, Jemima Craigie ; to move from his Mother's residence, Windmill-street, Fortitude VaUey, TO-DAY (Tuesday), at 3 p.m.

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/art...gh ruhle"&searchLimits=exactPhrase=hugh+ruhle

Could this be their mother ..

QLD death index
1915 C377 Barbara Ruhle father James Craigie - ** born Scotland aged 88 years

The Queenslander (Brisbane, Qld. : 1866 - 1939)
Saturday 3 April 1915
THE LATE MRS. B. RUHLE.
Soon there will be few of the very earlier pioneers left to tell us the story of those far away times when Queen-street was a track and the only vehicles a dray or two. Such were the conditions when the late Mrs. B. Ruhle arrived in Brisbane in 1853. Leaving Scotland by the ship American, she and her husband set out for this little known country, but he was not to see it. He died on the voyage out, and the young widow, with her babe in her arms, etc etc

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/22295616?searchTerm="ruhle"&searchLimits=exactPhrase=ruhle

BUT if her hubby died on the way out here, why these births after arriving:confused:

QLD birth index
1859 B26 Catherine Margaret Ruhle Gottfried Adam Barbara Cragie
1861 B800 John Jacob Ruhle Gottfried Adam Barbara Cragie
1863 B2131 Sarah Jane Ruhle Godfrey Adam Barbara Craigie

Or have i got a couple of families mixed up together

Hello gibbo,

Thank you very much. I didn't have any of it.

I'm not sure either because the 1927 death has the name as Adam H with no parents listed. If he was 74 in 1927 then he was born Scotland abt 1847 and he arrived with his mother Barbara. She must have remarried soon after arriving. ??? Not that comman a name.

Qld. Death 1863/B1099 Gottfried Adam Ruhle - - ** born Germany aged 46 years

They must have left and returned in 1863 and he died on the return voyage. Then why a reg with B= Brisbane and not M= Marine ???

He must have died just before the vessel arrived. Is he buried in Brisbane?

Barbara Craigie aged 26 arrived on board America in 1853. States husband died on voyage. Im having trouble finding his name

http://srwww.records.nsw.gov.au/ebo...4790/America_11 Jan 1853/4_479000404.jpg&No=3

Orkney Islands Church of Scotland Read& write both Husband died on the voyage

That is unusual. That film is the list as boarded so it should list all the passengers in sequence. The list on the second film which is not on-line has the details as inspected on arrival so it includes things such as the names of their parents and if living or dead, their health and if they had any complaints.

Possible:

Barbara Craigie
birth: 5 July 1826
christening: 12 July 1826 ROUSAY AND EGILSHAY, ORKNEY
father: James Craigie
mother: Barbara Robertson

Age in shipping record and age at death point to abt that date.

Some time after her arrival she again married ...
So a marriage in Qld:

V1853204 85/1853 RUHLE GOTTFRIED A - CRAIGIE BARBARA IS

= Wesleyan Methodist Brisbane, Co. Stanley, Ipswich, Moreton Bay (QLD)

So her maiden and married names were the same.

I'm not sure if we are finished with this one. I'm still digesting it and dinner.

When I get around to all the look ups I did at the library today there will be some very interesting stuff to add to the Brigg(s) family. Like the baptism I posted to the Documents board.

I hadnt been able to find a death index for Sarah in NSW or QLD. Did a bit more checking and i think she may have died on voyage. They arrived in 1852 and he remarried in 1853.
