Hi, I'm James, from Canada, now living in the 'frozen north' of Scotland.

Most of my research concerns Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire families but I have numerous other interests elsewhere.

Two items that help keep me going through the research are in this pic that I would have used as my Avatar though it seems custom versions aren't allowed - is that right?

James.

Dave,

Thanks.

Aberdeen's down south to those of us on the north coast - at least 5 hours drive south (well and a bit east:) ) Will be there (Aberdeen) end of month en route to Shetland.

Now, back to avatars - I know where, and on a similar forum, I know how, but here it aint working for me so far. Is that because I'm too new?

James.

Hi James,

5 hours!! What are you in a tractor?! he he :D

I was at Wick a couple of months ago and had to goto Dingwall, Inverness, Forres and Banff then onto Aberdeen - sure it only took me 3 to 4 hours!

Anyway, regarding the avatar, you should see at the bottom of the page:
Or click this link
Custom Avatar and at the bottom of that section:
Option 2 - Upload Image From Your Computer.
From there you should be able to browse on your own computer to add your own avatar - but please Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller).

If you cannot do this, please let us know James,

Regards,
Dave
