Hello,

1841
Civil Parish: Carlton Cum Willingham
County: Cambridgeshire
James Hulyer 40 Ag. Lab
Mary Hulyer 35
Ann Hulyer 13
John Hulyer 10
Charlotte Hulyer 7
James Hulyer 4
George Hulyer 1
According to shipping records James senior and Mary were living in Carlton in 1853.

I'd like a look up please for the family in 1851.

Thanks Rob.

Shipping record has the details as of the inspection date just after arrival in the colony. I have no info yet on when either died.

A possible for Mary and no sign of James to 1861:

Deaths Sep 1856
HULYER Mary Linton 3b 279

Age for this one does not fit:

Deaths Dec 1866
Hulyer James 42 Linton 3b 313

That's the only death for a Mary in Linton to 1901.

Regards,

Dave

Hi Dave

This looks interesting for 1861:
RG9/1030/41/9 - RD: Linton - Parish: Carlton - ED: 3
James Hulyer, 62, head, ag lab, b. abt. 1799 Carlton
Rebecca Hulyer, 59, wife, b. abt. 1802 Kirtling

1871 - RG10/1593/39/10 - RD: Linton - Parish: Carlton - ED: 3
James Hulyer, 71, head, ag lab, b. abt. 1800 Carlton
Henry Hulyer now living at no. 54, James at no. 47.
There is a Caroline Hulyer, 17, unm, serv., directly above James on the original in either 46 or 47.

If the 1856 death of Mary Hulyer is good, then the 1861 Census is feasible.
I can't find a marriage for James & Rebecca, but there is a death for her that fits:
Q1 1865 Rebecca Hulyer, Linton [3b, 393]

Geoff
