I feel really chuffed after 2 months of picking up threads and 4 archive trips I've finally put the pieces together. I have suceeded in linking 2 families together which I felt must be related. Today I found the evidence to prove it. That brings a whole lot more relatives onto my family tree and takes me back to 1700 for one branch of our family. I feel like jumping up and down. Unfortunately my family are underwhelmed.

It gets even better the other side of the family has sent me a 70 page report of her family links all properly researched original source material. It's like Christmas.

Hi DW,
I had the same luck as you, when I started my wifes adoptive parents. I had almost a complete family history for both her parents sent to me, all confirmed.
It took the fun and the pain out of it, all in one go.

must be a day for it,i just got a photo and a load of certificates posted through my door today,my husband whos tree it is was like oh yeah and im wow fantastic,i think we are a breed apart us lot.but well done you it gives hope to the rest of us.ahhh back to the flippin graveyard again.suex

Now I've put that lot together in order to go further it now means lots of archive work and lots of different archives. So Now I need underwhelmed husband to help me get to archives. He seems to think that I just click on the internet and answers come.
