I have just found g grandads grave, finally after looking for ages i was informed he had been buried in the same grave as g grandmother but his details had never been put on the headstone. I have had a picture of g grandmothers headstone for ages totally unaware that g grandad was there right under our noses all along.
I have also found hubby's g grandfathers grave as well. Apparently there is no headstone but there is a grave number etc for it, so should still be able to find it.

Little steps but exciting all the same

It did feel good!! We are hoping to go to where hubbys family come from next time we go away and the fella who helped me works at the council and he said to let him know when we will be there and he is going to see what else he can find before we get there.

i found something else in a old newpaper as well tonight to do with George Gibson and his estate. Still no William!! hundreds of passenger lists, newspapers, cemeteries and lot of emails and nothing. Needless to say the garden bed isnt fixed yet:2fun:

Hi Gibbo

Sorry I was out when you posted this am. I had to stock up on food for the rest of the week. Lizzie did get some in for the weekend but forgot the salad things.

I also needed some books to read. I get through so many !!

Yep all good. I found the article in the old newspaper for hubby great grandparents something about the estate, anyway it has the land lot numbers they owned and the parish and i cant find a jolly map that has that info on it. But its alright i will find one!!
I love reading as well but always go to sleep when i read, maybe if i sat up when i read it make a difference:2fun:

I read for about half to an hour before I turn in, I used to find that it relaxed me after a hard day with the children, so I still do it. I daren't read during the day as nothing else would get done !! I sit at the computer instead writing to these people all over the world :2fun: :2fun: :2fun:

Even tho there is no headstone we are going to stop in at the cemetery there next time we go down there.
I found the lot numbers to the land he owned as well, cant find a old map with the land portions on it tho, might write to the council in that area and see if they have one. I would like to find the exact area he had the property as there are some family members we cant find where they are buried and lot of people back them buried their family on their farms etc. and would be good to get permission to have a wonder around to see if they are there, or if the now owners know of any graves there.

No William or George today but the postie always brings Bill. I tell him i dont want Bill and he justs laughs. If only he knew Bill always turns up at the wrong time, free loads in my house for a week or so, spends my money and leaves and then repeats the process time after time.:2fun:
