I have a Benjamin Gill who lived in Greenhill Norton Derbyshire and married an Anne Shepherd at Norton in 27th Oct 1777. This I know as a fact taken from the parish records and as his son became an apprentice cutler I know from those records I have right man. Can't find his birth but it was suggested to me that he was born in Greenhill, but I have been told he is not in records. Family Search suggest he was baptised in Dronfield on the 3rd Jan 1740, which is quite possible, Dronfield isn't far away and birth date seems right as his marriage to Anne was his 2nd marriage. My trouble is where did they get this info? I can't find it on the IGI counties site.
