Hi

If you were given 1 family mystery to solve which would you choose?

For me I would opt to find out the burial date and location of my 4xgreat grandfather George Coombs. It would give his age. Just finding that out would be great.

Hi Ben,

Thats a tough one. I've got lots I would like to tie up. As I'm waiting for (hopefully) for a person to compare a picture of my grandad so that I can 100 percent say he is the right person I've been searching (he is but I dont have any paper work), then that would be the one.

I would perhaps then go for the baptism and origin of William Inkpen who wed in Oxford City in 1765. Inkpen is a Sussex and Dorset name.

Either that or the birthplace of my 4xgreat grandfather Thomas Roberts born about 1777.

For me it would be finding out who my illegitimate Gt Grandmother, Mary Ann Austin's, father was. I cant' stand looking at that gap in my tree, where the rest of names should be!

Lee, more than anything I hope that you solve your mystery. You still have people to find who are still flesh and blood and what happened to rob you of a family was unjust. Have you ever thought about approaching WDYTYA? In Australia, we have Find My Family, which seems to uncover living relatives for people in your situation. Never stop looking, it's just a living brick wall and as we always tell each other, they fall down eventually, just never give up chipping away.

Cheers,
Jill

keep rocking those boats Lee!!!!

It's information that you're entitled to and so's your brother for that matter. As we get older, family gets much more important, it will be for him as well!

Hi Lee and Glen
My father is in the same situation as well. So far my father has found out about 4 other siblings and there is suposed to be one more but to date no one can find this one. We keep our fingers crossed that the last one will be found.
