Hi there.

I am doing researching on Slater family tree for my brother in law's wife.

All I have given by her:

Her Mum was Susan Slater 1948-2006
her granddad was George Robert Slater born in 1920 and died in Birmingham in 2011
George's father was George Slater - don't have much information on him but he was possibly married to a Pearl surname unknown. They had 5 children who are George (as above), Dolly c1922, Les C1925 died in 2008, Len 1930 and Ron c1936. I've checked on Ancestry for their birth record - nothing came up but only for George Robert, it came up.

Many thanks.

Lisa

you would have to get the marriage cert for George Robert to confirm his father probably by his occupation. As far as I can see it is George born 1893 Birmingham. We know he married Annie E Sammons in 1918 There are other George's born around that time.
this is the 1911 census for George 1893. I cannot find them in 1891/1901.As far as I can see his mother was Rosa May Bird, married 1890 Birmingham ref 6d 303

1911 England Census

Birth Place: all Birmingham
Civil Parish: Aston Manor
County/Island: Warwickshire

George Stater 51 B'ham, Canvas bag maker
Rose Stater 45
May Stater 20
George Stater 18
Albert Stater 13
Rosey Stater 11
Reginald Stater 6
Clarance Stater 4 Perry Bar

on another site the name has been recorded as Slater (I agree) and Rose as Rosa

Bird Rosa May Birmingham 6d 303
Slater George Birmingham 6d 303

Hello Dave!

Thanks for those information.

I have contacted the wife regards her family, and she has confirmed it was actually Annie E Sammons! She gave me some more information that has been confirmed for this family tree! :)

She also asked is there a person missing between Leonard and Ronald? I couldn't seem find any information and she was told that this 'brother' of their died in war world 2.

Thanks

Lisa

I can't see another birth, but there is a death in 1943 in Birmingham of a Leonard Slater aged 15. This ties in with your Leonard's birth in 1928

Hi Both,

My Grandmother Rose was George's (b 1893 ) Sister. I am trying to find out more about their father George but am having little success and would be very grateful for any information that you have .
I think that all the info you have is correct , I have some recollection of my Dad telling me about his cousin dying at a young age.

Regards

Marie
