Hi my name is Julie and I'm looking to find the records of my father's side more than my mother's as there is a major genetics problem. I have found lots of names for mum but not dad. I have 2 brothers my maiden name was Wheeler. I have children and grandchildren. I love animals. Like swimming doing crosswords and reading. I love the beach I think this comes from being born in Hastings!!. I would love to hear from anyone who may be able to help in my search or who might just fancy a chat

Hi thankyou for your reply. I see you are in Australia I do know some of my dad's siblings actually emigrated over there but at present have no names. I will do as you say and look around the forums. I am new to all this so it may take me some time to get the hang of it!!^-^ I am so keen to find my family but really no idea were to start. Julie

Hello Julie

Welcome to the forum. As you are at the beginning of your search I suggest if you have any certificates to start with those.
When you Have used what you already have, I would use both FMP and Ancestry's 14 day trial consecutively, they both let you build a tree for free. They will ask you for a card, but if you decided they are too expensive don't forget to cancel.
There are some free sites, but don't always hold the information you need. If you need any help there are lots of people here who are very good at helping, so don't be afraid to ask, no one here thinks you are silly we all had to start somewhere.
