Hi all
Back again after a 6 year break from family history. The 1939 register has been a real help and answered a few questions.
There are some relatives that I don't think I will ever trace, looking for Evans in Wales is like a needle in a haystack.
Glad that the GRO are doing PDF files, at least that is a bit cheaper.

Also a few of them have married men or women with the same forename as another member of the family, although the surname has changed so there is a lot of muttering going on lol

Hello fellow researchers:)
I am from Washington State in the US.

Looking for a few ancestors from Staffordshire. My husband and I will be visiting London for a few weeks and thought about doing some on the ground research for a few brick walls.

So happy to find a forum like this.

A grandfather born in (William Henry Bailey) April 15, 1754 in Gilly Heath.

Gilly Heath looks like it could be Gillow Heath near Biddulph. He was married very nearby in the church at Rushton Spencer. The marriage record says he was a widower so married previously.

What is a good day to inquire about records in Biddulph would anyone care to venture? St. Lawrence has a churchyard and might have records.

Best wishes to all here:)

Hello All

I am Mark, live in Aylesbury, Bucks with my wife & two older teens. Originally hail from Wrexham, North Wales (all family still there). Like many my main interest, when I get chance is researching and digging away at Family Research. I l like a challenge and helping others and have had some success in reuniting long lost relations. Stuck on one or two of my own projects though! I will break the walls down eventually (I hope).

Regards
Mark

Hi Mark, and welcome to FHUK forums.

Aylesbury, where I was born. Well, in The Royal Bucks Hospital actually. I hailed from Princes Risborough.

Put your queries in the most appropriate forum, and no doubt our members will endeavour to help you out.

Hello.

My name is Lucy and I'm in Bluffton, South Carolina, USA. I'm determined to prove my family tree within the next year. It's already been done on several sites but I'm finding huge mistakes. My parents are older and I'd like them to be able to see who they're factually related to. This has become my passion & it helps that I'm having a blast.

In addition to genealogy, I love history, traveling, fishing, music, making friends with all my "new" cousins, and spending time with my grandkids. I'm also a huge SciFi geek.

I'm having a problem with my Harrington line & I'm hoping this site can help me find some answers. I'm also looking forward to collaborating with others on mutual surnames.

Lucy

Hi,

My name is John and I want to research my father's history. He never spoke much about his family and his father passed away when he was 14. I am hoping that this forum will help me gain the skills to do this

Cheers,

John
