Hi can any one do a look up for my ?
marriage of my g8tg8tgrandad Thomas Rice to a first name not known Neil
lived in Kings County(offaly) when there son William was born 1853

I suspect the marriage was RC. If so, it won’t be on the Irish Civil registration Marriage index. RC marriages were only recorded from 1864. For an RC marriage in 1853 or earlier, you’ll need to rely on the church records, assuming they have survived, and you know the parish.

Dnt no if the were R/C as my father was C of E and its his surname that came from there so not to sure.
Just wish i could find out more on my Rice side only back to my greatgreatgrandad Thomas Rice b about 1830ish married a E.NIEL but this may be o'NEIL as there is no mother firdt name on his baptisem record.
