Hi Ann....Waldron is a very common name world wide...the bulk of the Irish moved to the North West at the start of the Idustrial revolution then greatly increased when many Paddys as they were known worked on the building of the first Railroads....if you have any other info post it on this thread and the experts will help you...regards Lee.

there will be no records from Ireland to England as it was all part of the UK, [unfortunately] some people also moved after the Irish famine, I couldn't find them earlier than 1891, but they were still at Leigh in the 1901 census. Were they married in England or Ireland? :)

the waldrons are my mothers fathers line
THomas waldron my gr.grandfather ,was born.in galway ireland around 1857,
his wife margaret welsh was born in clare ireland 1864 .
i dont know when they came to live in leigh but ,thera eldest son ,john waldron was born around 1884. then the they had a daughter bridget waldron born around 1885, then my grandfather michael waldron born around.1886 then thomas waldron born around 1888 and then patrick waldron born around 1891 and then edward waldron born around 1899.and then they had another daughter margaret ann waldron born around 1901.i found margaret ann, on 1911 census .
my gr.grandfather work in the coalmines .
the were catholics .but i dont know if they married in leigh or not .iam still trying to find the marriage.
i did find some waldrons & welsh in other parts of the north west ,but ,as you say waldron is quite a comman name in ireland .
also i recently look on the galway web site to look for margaret welsh birth

Thought you'd be interested to know that in the province of Munster, which includes county Clare, the surname Walsh was (and still is) pronounced Welsh. So, in Ireland she'd probably have been recorded as Margaret Walsh, but when she got to England and gave her name, officials/priests/registrars would have heard 'Welsh' and recorded that name.

hello everyone
i just thought you would like to know that i received the copy of
my gr.grandparents marriage cerificate today
and they were married on the 10th april 1882 at st josephs catholic church
chapel street leigh lancashire .

At the time of the marriage they were both living in bridgewater steet leigh,
i have had a look at the 1881 census for that street and could not find them,so may be there they were living in another part of leigh before the census ,
the list was from find my past .com ,although they did,nt look all that complete
as there seem to be some numbers missing.
from 1891 to 1911 cenus they were living at 52 bridgewater street.
thomas waldron ,s father was john waldron and he was deseased at the time of the marriage
and margaret welsh,s father was edmund welsh .
thomas was 26 when thy married and margaret was 20.
if any one can adivce me were to look next i will be most greatfull
thank you to all
best wishes annpart
