Still not sure we are right Geoff.

If we are then death reg is wrong. If death reg is right we have wrong family.

A James Rook(e) born abt 1832 Bristol with father = James ??

Looks to be same family but is it the right family.

Seems only one Rook family in Bristol area in 1841 so perhaps informant got father wrong.

Still looking for arrival 1851 - 1858.

I wouldn't necessarily say the birth is agreed yet

Re. Em's post #2
James Rook
Christening Date: 10 Mar 1833
Place: Bristol, Gloucestershire
Father: John Rook & Mother: Mary Rook

and this..

James Rook
Baptism Date: 11 May 1834
Baptism Place: Lydney, Gloucestershire
Father: John Rook & Mother: Mary Anne Rook
[Occ = labourer. Abode = Lydney]

I guess we need to know if he was from Lydney or Bristol?

Ok, looks like informant got it wrong but perhaps not the Lydney family.

I can't find another family that fits.

No other plausible answer at mo, Dave..

There is at least one tree that has the 1833 bap and the death reg and puts parents unknown.. You can see why!
