Death of Isabella's mother:

Death 8983/1903 McALPINE ISABELLA - JOHN - ISABELLA - SYDNEY

The Sydney Morning Herald - Saturday 12 September 1903 p.10
DEATHS
McALPINE.-September 11, 1903, at her residence, 179 Riley-street, Isabella, dearly-beloved wife of John McAlpine, aged 58 years.

There seems to be only the one marriage in NSW for a Richard Willis to an Isabella so perhaps both 1930 entries are correct.

1913 ? might have Isabella's middle name.

No middle name

LACHLAN—TULLAMORE
Willis Isabella Burra Burra domestic duties
Willis Richard Burra Burra labourer

Ruling out??
One tree has Isabella death year 1957, tracked her down in ESMP age fits, probably why tree owner assumed it was her, buried with a Thomas Richard. Isabella's mothers name not right in death index.
ESMP
Isabella Willis 8/10/1957 A12 - Anglican FM 12 - 77 83
Thomas Richard Willis 5/06/1947 A12 - Anglican FM 12 - 77 79
Death
26673/1957 WILLIS ISABELLA JOHN ELIZABETH SYDNEY

1943 COOK-NEWTOWN
Willis George Victor 33 Simmons street turner
Willis Isabella 33 Simmons street home duties
Willis Thomas Richard 33 Simmons street no occupation

Checked Waverley cemetery, not buried with her mother.

Rupert

Thanks Rupert.

Marriage 9153/1922 WILLIS THOMAS H - SMYTH ISABELLA I - SYDNEY

The initial H could be R.

Can't see a birth in NSW for a Thomas Richard but there are several for a Thomas Henry.

Back to this one.

No birth in NSW index around 1868 for a Richard Willis or a Thomas R. Willis.

19/11/1844 SYME ISABELLA - JOHN SYME/ISABELLA DAWSON F 466/ 60 453 Clackmannan

Isabella died in 1903 and husband John was still alive.

Looking for the death of John McAlpine. Born in Scotland but I don't have his birth yet.

There are errors in the index with initials so H could be R.

Death 13354/1947 WILLIS THOMAS RICHARD 79 YRS ENMORE NEWTOWN

That could be the death of the one above and not the one who married Isabella nee McAlpine.

Not seeing them together before 1943.. Not seeing a Thomas Richard before 1943

A few Isabel/Isabella not that address before 1943

Geoff

Stumbled across a tree [not the best] suggesting that Richard Willis = Isabella Syme McAlpine m. 1909 Glen Innes, not validated and son = George Victor b. 1911 Lismore, not validated.

Geoff

Thanks Geoff.

If that is the case I'm back to the question Richard has become Thomas Richard. ??

Thomas H ? & Isabella [Smyth] in 1930 ?

Death for Thomas H. ??

To rule them out.

WILLIS THOMAS HENRY 30440/1943 THOMAS HENRY - ANNA MARIA - REDFERN * married to Florence

If the tree is correct with son George Victor then we have the family in 1943 with Richard as Thomas Richard and no occupation.

No way of knowing for sure we have them in 1913 near Queanbeyan or in 1930 in Sydney.

Can't find them in any years 1931 - 1937 so far.

Dave

Thanks Geoff.

But I can't see how they go from northern NSW to near Queanbeyan to Redfern.

We don't know when Richard ? started using Thomas Richard ?

I might have to wait until I can search between 1913 and 1930 at the library.

Yeah, no access to those E/R's. Sands would be a bit hit and miss..
