I have a stand that has the phone on the middle shelf and a pot plant sits on the top shelf. I have been known to over water the plant and the phone gets drenched along with the phone book etc.
Ok i got up this morning and the phone wouldnt work and the computer was playing up dropping in and out all the time until finally it dropped out totally and that was that. I had watered the plant yesterday and did the usual of drenching everything so i got the blame for the phone been on the blink. "your own fault" said Hubby. Well he said more than that but thats all im going to write on here. So now im crawling saying "I will fix it and i will even move the plant" I picked the pot plant up and promptly dropped it. So now besides been wet, the phone and floor are covered in mud  Now i was really in trouble! :2fun: :2fun: Anyway hubby said he wasnt going to listen to me whinge all day about not having a computer so he rang the phone company and begged them to do something  They must have felt sorry for him as they arrived just after lunch and fixed the problem. AND IT WASNT MY FAULT!  It was loose wires in the phone socket from when hubby moved it when we resheeted the wall. HIS FAULT!! :2fun: :2fun: im still not allowed to put the plant back on the shelf tho :2fun: :2fun:

Maybe its the phone company's fault? My broadband is through phone line and some days I'm on and off broadband for hours.
Hi Duckweed,

How do you get your phone. Is it cable or old fashioned wires? Is your broadband connected too? Loads of people in my area have lost their phone because of flooding near the cable. Have you had a lot of rain lately? Strange thing with ours which is from old fashioned line is the TV which is broadband can still be going while broadband for computer is not and phone is working perfectly well. Other reason for on and off broadband might be you need to reboot your router. I'd contact phone company and ask them to test line.

Hi DW,
Yep a lot of rain lately. We have broadband. I have only been kicked off once today so far and that was this morning but still no phone all day. Hubby contacted the phone company this morning and it will be most likely wednesday before they check anything. If its from the weather it will be dried out before they get here:2fun: :2fun: My son rebooted the router thing ma jig and it made no difference. I think it could be the weather as you mentioned as it only started this since we had the rain.
