Hi.
Im Steve and ive just joined the forum to hopefully get sone sone help.
Im only researching one line of my tree because I have been told one of my ancestors came from Wales and used to work in the slate mines.
Ive got very close geographicaly but Ive hit a block with Edward Pugh.
He was married to Elizabeth in 1920 in Salford and lived in salford to his death in 1864. And he was a Tailor.
The 1851 census says he was born in worthen shropshire but the 1861 transcipt says monmouthshire. On looking at the document im certain that it says Montgoneryshire.
The area in hes from in Shropshire is very close the border with Montgonershire.
Ive found a couple of baptism records in that area that say his patents whete Thonas and Martha. I'm fairly sure these are the same person but im not %100. I cant find any more info about Thomas and Martha.
Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Steve Wailes formerly Pugh

Did you ever find anything more regarding Edward Pugh from Trelystan?
I was visiting St Mary's Church, Trelystan on Saturday. My great great grandparents, Samuel Pugh and Elizabeth Weaver were married at the church in May 1848.
I have attached a photo of St Mary's.
