Age is right for that death in Victoria.

So, is that the wrong death in WA for James? Age is not quite right - 24 in 1863.

PERTH, April 19.
The body of a man named James Meek
was found in his camp at Lawlers to-day.
The head was completely blown off. A
revolver was found alongside his bunk,
with which he had evidently committed
suicide.

SUMMARY OF NEWS.
The body of a man named James Meek was found in his camp at Lawlers yesterday with the top of his head blown completely off. The circumstances point to suicide.

The Inquirer and Commercial News (Perth, WA : 1855 - 1901) - Friday 21 April 1899 p.8
GENERAL NEWS.
Suspected Suicide.-The Commissioner for Police received the following telegram on Wednesday from Serjeant M'Intyre, Cue :- James Meek was found dead in his camp at Lawlers this morning. The top of the head was completely blown off and it points to a case of determined suicide. A shot-gun was lying alongside the bunk where the body was found. An inquest is being held.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Isabel Jane Meek,
Mrs. Isabel Jane Meek, wife of the
late Mr. Robert F. Meek
, passed away
at her home, Pearson Street, Bairns
dale. The deceased lady's husband
died only eight weeks ago. The late
Mrs. Meek, who was 75 years of age,
was a native of Stratford. She had
been in ill-health for some time.
The funeral took place on Monday,
the interment being made in the
Bairnsdale Cemetery, where the last
rites were performed by the Rev. S.
A. Goddard, of St. Andrew's Presby
terian Church. The coffin-bearers
were Messrs. R. Kincaid, C. Whitelaw,
T. Sim, and E. Boyce. The pall
bearers were Messrs. H. Holloway, A.
McPherson, R. Hardy. W. F. Hardy,
and J. G. Harding.


That Robert can't be the father of James who was 24 in 1863.
